Collection: King Seiko -- Watches

In 1960s, the Japanese watchmaker Seiko believed they were capable of producing watches of the same quality as the Swiss. To prove this, Seiko founded two different luxury lines produced by two wholly owned subsidiaries. It was betting on internal rivalry will push rapid innovation. The earliest model of the King Seiko was produced in 1963 by Daini Seikosha Co. based in Tokyo, as an answer to the release of the 1960 Grand Seiko by Suwa Seikosha Co. in Nagano.
