Omega
Geneve
Manual / 1968

Intro

This Omega Genève manual-winding watch from 1968 features a beautiful sunburst dial that plays elegantly in the light. It's powered by the Caliber 613 movement, known for its reliability and convenient quickset date function, allowing rapid adjustment via the crown. This particular model uses a Seamaster caseback, which is likely original to the watch, as Omega is known to have shared parts across its different lines at the factory (not unlike early Tudor, which used Rolex-signed casebacks and crowns).

Story

The Genève line launched in the 1950s. Unlike the Seamaster or Speedmaster, which were designed as tool watches, the Genève was the line where Omega could experiment freely with cases, dials, and forms it wouldn't risk elsewhere. From early clean classics to bold 1970s shapes, it carried Omega's spirit of invention, paired with solid in-house calibres.
