Tudor
Oyster Shock Resisting
Mint Dial / 1964

Intro

Tudor Oyster with old "Big Rose" logo from 1960s.

It features a beautiful white dial and silver arrow maker index. It also features a Rolex signed screw down crown and caseback. This is truly a beautiful piece that any watch collector can appreciate.

Story

Tudor was founded by Hans Wilsdorf in 1926, who also founded Rolex earlier. The two brands shared a common philosophy, design, and heritage, and are currently still owned by the same company, the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation.

For their vintage pieces, both brands shared parts and designs, resulting in many Vintage Tudor watches having original Rolex-signed crowns, casebacks, and bracelets. The primary distinction between the two was that most Tudor models used modified third-party movements, whereas Rolex employed in-house movements.
