Omega
Geneve
Beautiful Dial / 1972

Intro

This Omega Genève from 1972 features a grey, vertically brushed dial that catches the light with subtle elegance.

At its heart is the Omega Caliber 613, a respected automatic movement known for its reliability and practical quickset date function—allowing the date to be advanced easily by pulling the crown, without the need to rotate the hands continuously. This thoughtful feature reflects Omega’s commitment to both precision and user-friendly innovation.

With its clean design and vintage charm, it’s a beautiful and intriguing piece that any watch collector can appreciate.

Story

The Genève line was introduced by Omega in the 1950s as a more versatile alternative to its professional tool watches such as the Seamaster, Speedmaster, and Railmaster. Intended for general use, the Genève series gave Omega’s designers greater freedom to experiment with a wide variety of styles and concepts. As a result, the line includes a broad spectrum of models—from bold and unconventional to timelessly elegant. The example offered here belongs to the latter category: a classic, understated dress watch that reflects the refined side of mid-century Omega design.
