Omega
Constellation Daydate
Integrated bracelet / 1970s

Intro

This Omega Constellation Automatic "TV Screen" from the 1970s features an integrated bracelet that fits a wrist up to around 19cm, along with unique gold indexes.

It's powered by the Caliber 1011 automatic movement, known for its reliability and convenient quickset date function, which allows rapid adjustment via the crown.

Story

Contemporary to the original Speedmaster, Seamaster, Railmaster, and De Ville collections, the Constellation stood out as a premium option, boasting Omega's finest chronometer-grade precision movements.

The Constellation derived its name from the emblem on the caseback, which depicts an observatory with eight stars positioned above it. These eight stars represent two chronometer records and six first-place awards that Omega garnered between 1933 and 1952. The significance of the two chronometer records was particularly notable: Omega achieved world records for precision in all categories at the Kew-Teddington Observatory in 1933, and repeated this feat in 1936.

Omega has crafted countless Constellation models over the years, showcasing a diverse array of case shapes and dial designs. This specific model adopts an integrated case-and-bracelet style, unmistakably inspired by the work of Gérald Genta.
